When I try to use Roxio DVD creater, the program says "drive not detected" I
have tried re-installing using Recovery Manager, but still does not work.
Any ideas???

I have Roxio Creator 8 but no working. You need Roxio Creator 10 or up to
windows vista.
 
What version of Roxio and what edition of Vista? How about some details
about your system?
 
I have Vista Home Premium, Roxio Creator Basic V9. According to the
previous post I would need version 10, but this was the version that was
pre-installed on my Vista system so don't know why it would not work with
this version.-- I have a HP Pavilion Notebook, Intel Core 2 Duo, 32 bit
operating system. Any other questions, please ask. And if you have any
suggestions I would sure appreciate it. Thanks

I'm not sure why i would need another version. This version was
pre-installed on my Vista system. Have only had it since about last Oct., so
I think it SHOULD work, but it doesn't. Don't know why it would be installed
and not able to work.
 
No, I have used Roxio 9 on Vista. In fact I still am on my test box. Since
your computer is still in warranty, what does HP tell you the problem might
be?

What antivirus program are you using?

Did you install anything just before you noticed the problem?

If this just started happening have you tried restoring to a system restore
point before the problem showed up?

I've got a couple of e-mails to HP now and haven't heard back from them yet.
I have CA security. No new installs. Yes, restored to an earlier date - no
luck there. I'm just frustrated as to why it won't work, because the drive
does work when I burn music from I tunes, and other programs, just not Roxio
now. Thanks for any help you can provide.
