Roxio refuses to make copies of DVDs I'm creating using Cyberlink
PowerProducer. It tells me the files won't fit. What am I missing?
I'm using blank single layer DVDs all around.

Thanks.

How much fits depends on the version of the software. Some are limited to 60
minutes

So the maximum amount of date write-able on a DVD depends on the
version of Roxio you are using? Amazing! Might I ask why that would
be?

Roxio now owns Sonic and my experience is mostly with MyDVD software... but

An entry level DVD version of MyDVD that comes with a computer (like v4.5
with my first burner) is limited to 60 minutes of content.

My version of MyDVD 6 says it can put up to 3 hours of content on a disc,
doing so by using higher levels of MPEG-2 compression, similar to Movie
Maker using higher compression to made a movie file smaller. It has an
option for 4 levels of quality (HQ, SP, LP and EP like VCR recorders). But
on some versions of MyDVD, when you try to use this option you get a
marketing message saying you need a higher version of the software.

The why is to get you started, but to sell you a higher version if you want
to use more features than the basic...

Thanks, for the explanation. I guess a simple bit level copy is not
something that is allowed? For copyright control reasons?

I should have said this in my previous post. I don't need any
compression. All I'm trying to do is make copies of an existing DVD
whose content has already been compressed by PowerProducer.
