I have been scanning the FAQs on the Roxio web site to try and resolve the
following problem, but none of their propose solutions work on my machine.
I have Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum on a Pentium 3 machine with Windows 2000.
Some of the features on the Project Selector work fine, but the 'Music CD
Project' constantly throws up the following error: 'Exception in
CreateInstanc of Creator - Program will be shut down'.
I tried using 'Sound Stream'. It allows me to enter music tracks but won't
play them. Message reads 'Unable to use sound card for playback. Another
application may already be using it'. Nothing else is using the sound card
to the best of my knowledge, unless it was loaded at startup and something
else is running silently in the background.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and have applied the recommended
patches. The version update fails to install - it keeps asking me to
re-install.
There appear to be a lot of disillusions customers commenting on similar
problems, on the Roxio Discussion Group.
Roxio charge £20 for telephone support, and I attempted to use e-mail
support, but they tell me my software no longer qualifies for support - it
is only a few years old, and previously worked ok on Win98 . I am not
impressed to say the least!!
Has anyone else had similar problems. Grateful for any advice.
Thanks in advance.
