Row Numbers

Hi,

If I delete a row in excel i.e. row 7 then the row numbers go out of sync
i.e.

5
6
8
9
etc

is it possible to correct this?

It seems as if row 7 is HIDDEN, not deleted.
To unhide row 7, do this:

1. Select cell A7 by pressing the F5 key, type A7 and press Enter.
2. Format - Row - Unhide
3. If row 7 still doesn't show, do this: Format - Row - Autofit

(To delete a row, if that is what you want, select a cell in the row,
then do Edit - Delete - Entire Row - OK.)

It's good to be recognized!

I've never been much in the newsgroups before -
I've always done my MVP-ing elsewhere. But I
felt newsgroupish today. Had to give them a try -
so many MVPs seem to like them so much.
 
EXCEL-G and EXCEL-L
is where I originally learned a lot from you. I am still there, learning and
contributing.
With a slow connection (in the "boondocks"), I find experts too slow to be
productive. Too bad you can't turn all of those points into prizes like the
old US "green stamps" program.

Are these the actual row headers or numbers you have placed in Column A using
autofill?

If the latter, enter =ROW() in A1 and drag/copy down column A. When you
delete a row, the numbers in column A will adjust.

In that case you must "hiding" the rows, not deleting.

I have never seen Excel Row Headers go out of sync by deleting.
