You can route private IPs to the Internet if you use NAT. All traffic
going to the Internet uses the public IP of the server.

What you cannot do is "see" the private machines from the Internet. The
NAT only allows the private machines access to the Internet.

If you run the RRAS config wizard it will quide you through the setup.

Note that this method is not compatible with an Active Directory domain
controller, because the NAT server is acting as a DNS proxy (ie it simply
forwards DNS requests to the DNS server configured on the server's public
IP).

i tried installing natting ,it ask me to use dhcp and dns proxy but my
network already have donain controller without dhcp ,i have given static ip
address to each client machine .now for route client traffic through
router ,it is asking that use dhcp and dns proxy,i think if i use this option
then ,it might conflict with controller.
also i have public dns ip address from isp.
let me know how to configure client?,should i use obtained from dhcp and dns
proxy inbuild option with rras on standalone servermachine where i am
configuring routerin win2000?or i can do with static ip address given to
client

As I said earlier, the common setup for NAT will not work with Active
Directory. Active directory clients must use the local DNS service.

You need to disable the DHCP-style allocator in NAT and disable the dns
proxy option in NAT. DHCP should give the LAN clients the NAT router's
private IP as their default gateway and the AD DNS server as their DNS
address. Then you must configure your local DNS server to forward "foreign"
DNS queries to a public DNS service (such as your ISP).
