Hi all

I have a unix server on the IP 193.195.89.252/255.255.255.128. My AD domain
is on 192.168.53.0/255.255.252.0. My RRAS machine is an ISA server. It has
2 NIC's, 1 for external & 1 for internal. The internal has 2 IP's
(192.168.53.10/255.255.252.0 & 193.195.89.215/255.255.255.128). All my
clients are assigned the 53.10 as thr gateway for internet access and
routing through to the unix server. My DHCP scope is 192.168.53.50 >
54.200. My servers are 53.10 > 53.20.

This has worked well for 3 years now.... but recently with an increase in
our machine numbers the DHCP server has started to allocate 192.168.54.0
addresses. Machine's with these IP's are having a delay of 90 seconds
before a telnet login will appear. When i change the client back to a .53
it works within 2 seconds.

Does anyone have anything ideas as to what i could check? I have checked
alot of my setup and cannot find the problem.

Aaron

Hi Aaron,

I think it's about your DNS-Config. Check the reverselookup for the ne
ip-range. Is it possible to lookup the new-ip's form your unix-host?

Hi Stefan

Would you believe I originally posted in the dsn newsgroup & i was referred
to RRAS :(

Thanks for your advice, i added to reverse zones 192.168.52 & .54, this
seems to have resolved the problem. I can now telnet from any machine in
about 1 second.

Thanks for your help.
