Hi all,

We have 4 sites that are interconnected by VPN (more
correct some of them were connected). On all four sites
we have a W2K server running RAS and accepting incoming
and outgoing VPN connections. ON each server we have
setup a dialing interface to every other server and it
all worked fine up until a week ago. Then, suddenly one
of our sites "site A" could not connect to our "site B"
The connection worked fine in the opposite direction. As
it happens, the mail server is located in "site B"
and "site A" was left without email all day. My
colleagues in "site A" had to setup a new RRAS server in
order to cure the problem as they couldnt fix it. Now,
its back again.
"Site A" can connect to "Site B", "Site B" can not
connect so "Site A".
I've looked in the event viewer and it gives an error
message:
registry. The following error occurred: The system could
not find the phone book entry for this connection.<<

This is the only pointer I have!!!

I've looked on the microsoft support site but didnt find
any help there

What is going on???
Can anybody help please?

Roberto

It could be because the phonebook file for site to site VPN could be
missing/got corrupted. Reconfiguring the interface (Delete the interface and
create it again with the same configuration) could solve this problem.

Thanks, Dinesh.
