Hello all,
I have a problem with a Win 2000 AS machine, the routing is disabled
and cannot activate it. I have a DSL connection active on this machine
and 2 NICs. I need to setup NAT for a small LAN.
The problem is the RAS and routing is disabled. I did enable and start
the service but still I cannot configure the service. In MMC the local
machine is listed but when I right click the name of the local machine
the very first option "Configure and Enable Routing and Remote Access"
is always greyed out. There is no way I can activate that option. I
have read a lot regarding this issue, I have enable the routing
service, I have modified a key in Registry to enable routing as
indicated in a solution on microsoft.com but still doesn't work.
Actually this is just a way you can enable routing but is something
you can do in many ways, editing the registry is not the best one.
It might be a Policy problem but I couldn't find anything yet. I
didn't modify the local policy, the machine is not a Domain
Controller, it is just a stand alone server and we don't run Active
Directory.
Has anybody came across something like this yet?
Thanks,
Tavi
