Hi there..
I'm having some difficulties setting up a RRAS PPPoE connection, that should
function as an ordinary DSL router you can buy everywhere. Now, I got two
NICs in the server, here's a list over them:
WAN 169.x.x.x (uh oh, I have no idea on what IPs to give it)
LAN 192.168.1.10
The WAN got a direct connection with an ADSL modem, which means I have to
use PPPoE. So in RRAS MMC I choose to create a NAT, and create a new
demand-dial interface to the internet (I make sure you choose the correct
NIC, which is WAN in this case). RRAS then starts up and I create an
'Internet Router', using PPPoE, route IP packats on the WAN interface, then
finally I enter the user/password. So good so far.
On the NAT server, I can easily connect to the net, it's secure (every port
is block etc). and it Just Works(tm). But, remember there's a LAN NIC in
that server as well, so I need to have this LAN connection route attempts to
access the internet from 192.168.1.xxx clients through the WAN connection.
That's how I see it, but so far I have been with out _any_ luck at all. I
figure that since LAN is the access point to the WAN NIC I need to use that
LAN IP as a gateway for the clients, and I need to tell the NAT server that
it should route between the two interfaces. If that's a correct assumption
then how do I do that? If not what do I need to change, figure out?
Many thanks in advance to those who can help me!
