I recently installed a Linksys Router WRT54G and tied it to my Docsis
1110 Com21 modem. Walked the install through with Cox tech and had no
problem with accessing the net and email and such. I have one PC
connected and a PDA connected to the PC either by Active Sync or
Bluetooth for access between the PC and PDA. I have a SDIO wireless
connection to the PC from the PDA to use the internet and email. All
work fine.
However, when I access a web site like DSLReports and click on the
Start, I get a warning message popup in the lower right hand corner
stating:
"Loca Area Connection 10 (which is my Ethernet card connection)
A network cable is un-plugged."
It pops up several times as if it were reconnecting the site. The
speeds are reduced to very slow (3000/256 service) below 50Kbps. It
does not appear when it is checking the Upload.
I don't know if is is a firewall adjustment or the IP of the PC (Cox
IP) and the IP of the router 192.168.0.1xx is not being detected
properly.
Any help or dialog would be of help. I can open most web pages
without this problem but when I download a file or have a situation
where the site must send or feed data to my system like a speed test.
TIA
