I just bought a DL - DI704P router to set up 2 separate computers.
I hooked up the network cards in each, ran the cables and it works
great., Both computer hooked up to the cable modem and the
internet...
BUT
I didn't use the WIZARD or the software that comes with it.

Now,
1. What are the advantages of using the wizard?
2. Am I missing some hidden feature?

If I run the wizard, do I :
1. have to run it from each computer hooked up to the router?

Lastly,
I want to run the Shared Printer software. I installed it, but when I
go to add a printer, it says it cannot find the network.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The wizard just automates the installation of the networking components,
by setting it up manually, you didn't "miss" any features.

You didn't state which OS, but basically, you must share the printer on
the PC that it's hooked up to first, then add a "network" printer on the
other PC, unless your printer is ehternet aware already, [or you're using
a print server], then you just have to "find" the printer by it's
internal IP address, [see instructions for your printer/print server for
details].

No, but you might want to open the router in a web browser (type
192.168.0.1) and "stealth" the ports on it and change the password from
default. They aren't that secure until you do this.

You don't need any wizard to connect to the Internet via the router. But you
probably need to install the printer share software on each PC you want to
give access to the printer. I say probably, because I don't know the DL, but
I have a US Robotics with built in print server, and in my case I had to do
it. After installing the print share software (on each pc), when you have to
locate the printer, you should say "local" (not networked !!!), and in the
list you will find a DL connection, which you have to select. That's it.

Sorry using win98
