After loading XP I had a small problem with LAN network card. Called
my ISP and finally was able to get it corrected.

Now my Router, A Link
After correcting a problem with my absence NIC card, (it's on the
motherboard and XP did not like it), all was well a day or two.

Then my router, a Linksys BEFW1154, started a continuing Link/Ack
request to my DSL modem, a Alcatel Speed Touch Home. The modem
responds. It now is almost a constant "Ask/Reply" with nothing
accomplished.

I have NO problems with my internet connections. After I am finished
with my task the "Ask/Reply" starts again.

ANY help with correcting this would be appreciated.

Thanks................"Whit"

Well the problem was solved by Norton Anti-Virus program.

I had a "W32WELCHIA.worm". Norton found it and from their web sight
showed me how to remove it.

And Low and Behold the above cured my "Ask/Reply" problem.
