Windows 2000 routing and remote access has been setup and
a client within the LAN has been able to connect via VPN.

Now the network router needs to be configured to forward
packets across the router-to-router VPN connection

The router IP address is known. The VPN Server IP
address is know.

What information goes into the routing table in the
router?

Configured Router to forward data going to port 1723 to
the VPN computer - 192.168.1.30. Someone in the
newsgroup made mention of enabling "PPTP pass through",
but did not see any configuration for this.

When the client tries to connect via VPN get the
following message: "The remote computer did not respond.
Error 721".

The error is probably in the router configuration because
I was able to connect via VPN on the local network.

What needs to be done to get VPN working?

The router is a Linksys Instant Broadband series
Etherfast Cable DSL Router, model BEFSR41.

The router documentation shows a tab for security, but
none shows up in our utility. The documenation also
mentions that PPTP is only used in Europe?

Is PPTP only used in Europe and how is the router utility
configured so that PPTP can be configured?

The router firmware needs to be upgraded from 3.10 to
4.02 to include the PPTP functionality. Problem solved -
thanks for the help.
