Round text box

How do I get a rounded text box (I know it's not a box technically anymore)? I am trying to put text into a record album looking format.

There is an AutoShape that I think will give you what you need. It is the
one that is a circle within a circle, on the basic shapes list. Draw the
shape, click the diamond on the inner circle to make it smaller. Right click
and select "Add Text" from the menu. You may need to change the background
also. Select the item, right click then select Format Shape. On the fill
drop down, select fill patterns or the color you want. (Black to gray
gradient gives a nice looking record effect if done from corner instead of
top to bottom.)

One thing to note: The text will not go around the circle, just across like
normal text. If you want the text to go around a circle, use WordArt to
create the text, size it to match your record and them group the two.

Just use an autoshape from the Drawing toolbar. You can type directly
into them.

You'll find a rounded text box within the AutoShapes PowerPoint provides -
look within the Basic Shapes. More info on AutoShapes at:

In order to get the text to wrap around in a circle you'll need to use "Word
Art". Word Art in on the same tool bar as "Drawing".
I believe it's the one to the right of the Text box Icon. It looks like a
slanted- blue "A". It takes a little work getting to the point where the
text will fill a double circle. Once you click on Word Art, select *any*
style you see. Once you selected the style you'll be ale to enter your text.
After you click OK, the text you typed will appear in a line format. Now,
click the text, so that you get the handles around the box. Another box will
appear. Then click on the Slanted "A" (Word Art Shape) in the middle. This
will give you whole bunch of circle, arcs, slants, etc, etc. The one (I
think) your looking for is the seventh one in the second row. After you
click OK, you'll need to drag it to the diameter you want.

Hope this makes sense...it getting late.

Opps...forgot to mention. You may need to build the text in M/S Word first.
Then cut and paste into your PP.
I think I told you the wrong selction. Try the *third* one in the second
row. Not the seventh one.

Down at the bottom of your screen, you'll see AutoShapes.
Click that, choose Basic Shapes, then click the one called "Rounded Rectangle"

Click and drag on the slide to size it then while it's selected just start
typing. Most autoshapes can hold text.
