New user to windows XP home Ed. Use OK for about two
months. Suddenly, my image rotated 90 degrees right.
The start button is in the opper left hand corner when
the Desktop screen is up. Reject H/W problems because
the Intel Ad that somes up first on boot up and the
Windows Ad are both correctly positioned. I have one
friend who had this happen, but it self-corrected for
him after some use.

I am operating by turning my Monitor on its side. The
image is obviously distorted.

You need to tell us what brand of video card or adapter you have.
If you happen to have a NVIDIA card or adapter, right-click on
your desktop and select:

Properties > Settings > Advanced > GeForce (tab) > NVRotate
and change the setting to "Landscape (0 degree rotation)".
