Ever since December 15 2003 I have not been able to rotate pictures using
the XP image viewer? Feels like some upgrade patch has affected me. Any
ideas?

I have tried
REGSVR32 gdiplus.DLL (says this is not infact a dll? what does that mean?

and
REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL makes no difference

please help??

Did you click No and Don't Show Me Again when a dialog warned about the possibility of lossy rotate.

If so change
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ShellImageView
ShellImageViewWarnOnLossyRotate to 6 (probably is 7). If you want the dialog back

Delete ShellImageViewWarnOnLossyRotate
from HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\DontShowMeThisDialogAgain

Hi David,

I thought I would share an easier way to reset this without having to go
into the registry. You can do it by doing the following:

Open a picture in the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer.
Hold down the Ctrl key and click the Red X in the top right corner.
You will receive a message that all rotation messages you have surpressed
have been reset.
Try and rotate the photo again and see if this fixes the issue for you.

Hope this helps!
