Hai,

I am trying to download the Root Certificate update
seperately, so I can install it company wide using SMS
2.0. Or if it can be done easier I am open for suggestions.
But I am unable to find it, even if I search google.com.

Does anybody know where to download and how to install
this update on all our Windows NT workstations the easiest
way?

Thanx,

I am trying to download the Root Certificate update

It looks as if that term is more XP related than NT

This service was introduced as part of Windows XP and is also available

(Google web search for
"root certificate update" site:microsoft.com
)

I think I know what you're thinking of though for NT.
I usually see/saw it on Windows Update for my NT partition.
Unfortunately I'm on XP right now and I agree searching
for it has been unsuccessful.

Don't you have at least one machine with the right certificates?
Just export from it and distribute from there.

(FWIW That is the usual suggestion given in the Windows Update NG.)

There is an elaboration of that procedure given here
(e.g. Method 8, Step 2)

(Google web search for:
download "root certificate" "windows update" site:microsoft.com
)

BTW the first search I tried was just:
download "root certificate"
FWIW there seems be a quite a bit of tutorial information available
that way from the various Certificate Authorities.

It appears that it is not necessary to encrypt those downloads :o
but if it was another possibility that has occurred to me is to install
a fresh version of your OS (e.g. in another partition) and then bootstrap
from there.

Good luck
