rollback to xp, lost files created by Vista

I downloaded some files while using vista then i decided to do a clean
install over vista (by choose to delete vista windows folder while install
winxp), i found out that some of my files in drive D which i downloaded whild
using vista was lost and some of other folder was lost (these folders was
created before installed vista), it seems happen to only that drive. why?
drive C (primary) and E was fine, no file lost.

i didn't delete those files cause in that folder, there any other files but
why only the files that i got after installed xp was lost? files that i use
"compabilities files" to see in vista also lost.

please help me

If you do a clean install then the files are lost, you will have to download
them again.
