Roku or Chromecast

I am thinking about buying a Chromecast or Roku 3 for watching UK TV in Germany.
As I understand it the CC only works via wiFI whilst the Roku works via wifi or LAN.
I have done a speed test which is OK if you understand the results!!!

Would this be a good enough signal for the wifi.
I am using a cheap media box at the moment using LAN.
Any info on either of these would be useful.

Depends on what you want to do, the Chromecast is quite basic compared to the Roku 3,

Obviously if your streaming media, a wired connection will be better, especially as the CC is only 2.4Ghz Wifi.

Chromecast 2 isn't far other either by the way. Which is almost certainly going to have 5G wifi.

I've got a CC and use it for streaming Youtube to my TV at times, other than that its not much use. It cant handle my Media via Plex so thats a no good for me.

If it were me I'd go for the Roku 3.

Edit: What about the Amazon Fire Stick?
