Rocovery of overwritten documents

I have stupidly overwritten a realy important word document with a
older version and i realy need the new version because the data that i
lossed is needed.. can any1 tell me how???

If it was a physical overwrite, forget it. Nobody at present
admits being able to recover that (and that includes the
NSA). There is also indication that it may be impossible
(in the strong, physical sense).

If it is a on FAT partition you can look for it with this:

http://filerecovery.biz/files/lasrlite.zip

Arno Wagner's comments are correct, but it is not neccessarily a
a direct overwrite. And even if it was, Word may have left an
incidental copy of the original file laying around. Either way, the
file's contents will be in unallocated sectors and subject to being
overwritten, so it is a long shot, but maybe worth trying.

If the system is any flavor of NT, you'll have to run the program from
a DOS boot disk.

Yes thanks for the help i will check it out!!

btw i found a amaising program calles DOC regenerator, i ran it and i
found docs from many years back :P but u need 2 pay.. maybe i have no
other choice!!
