I've been using the signature capture from "Hood Canal Systems", but alas,
that site has been taken over by some porn outfit. Anyway, the control
worked great in VS2003 CF and I'm curious if he or anyone on here knows if
there is an upgrade to work with VS2005 mobile? I've tried the 3.1 version
and no joy.

Thanks Ginny. I'll look up those cites. Guess that part about "new employer
not allowing him to continue work" is why 3rd party developers have a hard
time selling.

Earl,

I don't know about that. A lot of employers don't care what employees do in
their spare time, but Rob is working for a software company, and they often
have different rules about employees writing software. I'm guessing 3rd
party developers have the hardest time just getting the word out to the
public what they've created and where to find it.

Just wanted to followup on your cites so that anyone following or finding
this thread will not go astray:

1. The OpenNetCF cite is for the obsolete "Hood Canal" signature capture.
I've been using this one for a couple of years and the implementation worked
very well. It is good for VS2003 but appears to be dead in the water for
VS2005 (cannot imagine the code upgrade for the control would be that big of
deal if someone had access to it!).

2. The MSDN cite is for a signature capture scheme to send back to the
server. The capture code is good, but you will need to roll your own scheme
for storing, whether to a database or to a file. Which leads to ...

3. The Sergey Bogdanov cite is closest to being on point and I'm looking at
that now. The code appears to be from VS2003 but should be easily updateable
to 2005.

Not sure what you're saying here. OpenNETCF has nothing to do with Hood
Canal, and Rob Tiffany has never done any work for us. We have a signature
control in SDF 1.4 and the source for it is freely available. SDF 1.4 does
not have designer support for Studio 2005. SDF 2.0 will.
