Hello,
I have read the Step-by-Step Guide to User Data and User Settings
(http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/techinfo/planning/management/userdata.
asp). After reading this doc, I have decided that I want to use Roaming user
Profiles coupled with Folder Redirection.
I have a few questions. First of all, is there some sort of guide that deals
directly with this configuration? I have read numerous sources including the
Windows 2000 Server and Windows 2000 Professional Resource Kits, etc.
Everything I have read mostly involves theory.
The reason, I am looking for a guide is to answer my second question (and
any more that may pop up). If you use folder redirection with RUPs, where do
you redirect the folder? For example, where would you redirect the My
Documents folder? The profiles are already sitting on the server and the My
Docs folder is within the profiles folder. It seems to me that you would set
the folder redirection back to the My Documents folder within the profile.
The problem is that it sounds circular.
Any thoughts? Thanks,
Chris
