Roaming Profiles and Home Folders

I'm confused about roaming profiles and home folders. I have a user
with both implemented, but when she saves anything in her my documents
folder on the terminal server they are not on her local system when she
logs in. In order for her to "see" these saved documents, must her my
docs folder target be her home folder? I guess I'm missing the point of
these things, but I basically want whatever she does on one system to
be easily found on any other.

the folders in the my documents need to be in the same centralized
location. Otherwise she is saving info to two different locations.
