I'm in AD, users and computers, and I see the profile tab, but I'm not
sure if that's the right place to put the roaming profile in. If it
is, what exactly do I need to put in there?

Say you set up a roaming profile as is discussed here.....all is well.

What if you then go to the machine of interest and change the profile from
roaming to local? Does it still get the info from the network?

This has always confused me and hopefully someone can enlighten me.

Thanks,
Bob

PS there is an extremely handy GPO for roaming profiles and user, network
logon/logoff (I think that is it). Regardless, it allows you to target
folders to NOT copy down with the roaming profile! If you are using a AD
check it out as it is pretty darned handy!

If you change it to local, it won't be linked to the roaming profile folder
anymore, so no.

Even though it is set as such in AD?

As I say this does confuse me as I have watched profile data change on the
network when it was set to local....

Thanks,
Bob

It shouldn't. Test it out.
