I wasn't sure where to post this, but hope someone can give me some ideas to
try! Recently, RR updated their homepage, adding new features! Now when I
open the homepage, it never downloads like it should! Most of the time it
doesn't download the pictures, sometime pictures and some content, and always
never fully loads! I've contacted them by e-mail 3 times, chatted one on one
w/ technical support and have gotten tons of suggestions, no good! Its not
the firewall, cleaning cache, deleting cookies, files or history, I've tried
what they told me! I'm running Windows XP, IE 6! Kevin!

Avoiding the obvious, have you tried loading the correct URL?

If no joy, try the suggestions below;

Your are definitely NOT the only one with this problem. Road Runner is
getting flooded with calls about this from tons of users over the past couple
of days. I've talked to at least 6 people so far today with the same problem
and I'm having it too.

Road Runner says it's a change in ActiveX controls that Microsoft made in
their most
recent Windows Update.

You will noticate that rr.com loads just fine in FireFox, but not IE6 since
the most recent Windows Update.

See reply to hatworm for link to correct problem-if you understand it, that
is ha ha. I downloaded the patch and I still can't access rr home page and I
don't get the active X bar at the top to click on, so I am still confused.
Anyone who does figure this out, please post with SIMPLE instructions for us
non nerds. Thanks

I tried typing this in, are you sure its right, its not taking me anywhere! I
went to the address you gave before, that you got from RR, downloaded what I
think was the right activeX patch but still no homepage!

You're right, it only worked until I closed my browser, but I got all the
info from RR chat and I have posted it as "SOLUTION TO RR HOME PAGE ISSUE".
Read it and you will get your sanity back. And by the way, I think you can
just click on the link, but the safest way is to copy and paste it into your
browser.

An RR analyst told me that engineers are working to solve this problem, to
just be patient, and hopefully it will be fixed soon!

maybe it has to do with which area you're in cause mine loaded fine. I have
brighthouse/tampabay. They also said to try accessing it through fox.com and
the saving your home page, but I didn't have to do that. I'm cutting and
pasting the transcript for you-taking my stuff out.

Please disable firewalls that may be running, and mak sure Active X is
enabled. Let's open Internet Explorer and the open the menu (Tools - Internet
Options - Security tab - Custom Level Button - set Active X to enable or
prompt).

Now we need to clear the Flash cache. To clear the Flash cache please
visit:
http://www.macromedia.com/support/flashplayer/sys/settingsmanager.swf?defaultTab=localinformation .

Once the Settings Manager panel has loaded, please click the Delete all
sites button and then Confirm . The list in the panel should now be empty.
We can now visit back to http://www.rr.com/flash to reload the Road Runner
home page normally

you need to use www.rr.com/flash/index.cfm for our home page.

Just wanted to update anyone interested! Yes there are some problems with RR
homepage that concerns Microsoft, but also some problems that RR is
responsible for and trying to fix! I was told today that their working on it,
if Microsoft is not the reason for your troubles, be patient, RR engineers
are working on the problem! Atleast I hope their right, I've tried everything
but still having problems!
