Road/train simulation

Is there a programme that has road/rail simulation? Not one with people
whose health you must maintain, etc, as this is for my son. Simply like
a trainset on the screen where you can lay tracks and roads then watch
it go.

Here's quite a good one (depending on age of son). Suitable for 4 - 8 years
according to the author. It includes roads, simple railway and tramways.
