On shutdown I am getting a 0x0000009f river_power_state_failure. This
seems to be associated with continual disk corruption problems. I have
a Western Digitial 160 GB disk partioned with C: (12 GB) and (D: drive
(137 GB). I'm using Intel Application accelerator.
The problems seems to have started occurring after installing Roxio Easy
CD Creator 6.1. I have deinstalled the product, and removed the cdudf
device (which wasn't working), and am in the process of removing
dvdvrrdr (which also isn't working, as reported by device manager).
windbg shows that the error is at
804875da 8b55ec mov edx, [ebp-ox14]
Module list shows
nt 80400000 805a3a00
Call stack is:
nt! IoBuildPoDeviceNotifyList
nt! PopSetDevicesSystemState
nt: NTSetSystemPowerState
nt! KiSystemService
nt! ZwSetSystemPowerState
nt! NTSetSystemPowerState
nt! NtShutdownSystem
nt! KiSystemService
ntdll! NtShutdownSystem
winlogon! ShutdownWaittDlgProc
winlogon! DeleteNetworkConnections
winlogon! MainLoop
winlogon! CreatePrimaryTerminal
winlogon! _chkstk
I reinstalled SP 4, the system started to reboot, and about 90% of the
way it bluescreened with unable to find boot device. After repairing
with the emergency repair disk it always boots fine, until I do another
SP install.
Any suggestions on what might be causing the problem?
