Has anybody solved the hard crashes problem?
I went to the MS site and they had 14 suggestions for about 20 games they
offer to do with crashing.
I disabled sound, disabled agp, reduced graphics acceleration, changed
the network card, reinstalled just about everything in the world, updated
every driver that there is. I even cloned a hard drive from a similar
(different motherboard but also via chipset, same video card) computer
and tried popping that into the crashing system and after I got windows
xp to load the correct drivers it still crashed.
So that narrows it down to the motherboard in combination with the video
card and microsoft direct x. I can't fix microsoft's problems.
BTW this same computer plays diablo II, warcraft III, Home world 2 and a
whole host of other games without ever so much as a hiccup.
It is particularly ironic that the microsoft can't get the games they
produce to work on the operating system they produce.
Please don't suggesting looking in the Windows xp event viewer because
this is not a blue screen crash. This is a all of a sudden the computer
is starting up from scratch or the sound locks and the graphics are
completely corrupted crash.
Any other suggestions will be tried.
Thanks,
Chris
