Does the "Invalid Patch" mesage actually mean anything? Yes, it does...
To keep the download size to a minimum, the Rise of Nations updates
are mostly a delta update. A delta update contains the differences that
are found between newly versioned and original files. If the installed
files have become damaged or modified before the update, RON is
unable to successfully modify the file because the contents of the file
differ from the expected contents. To resolve this issue please visit:

|| on the account that you are playing the game with as you do on
|| the account that you installed the game with. Check to be sure
|| that you are able to patch the game with the Administrator account.
