Hi Laurie,
The issue may occur because the RIS server is multihomed or from other causes such
such as a Dell Remote Access Card (DRAC). The BINL service needs the following in order
to operate on a multi-homed RIS server:
(1) DHCP to be installed on the same server
(2) a scope activated for each NIC on the machine
(3) each NIC be authorized, regardless of subnet
Try disabling the Remote Access Controller (RAC) Service.
If DHCP is on a different server this not work because the BINL service will not think that the
RIS server is authorized. As a workaround, you may be able to install the DHCP service on
the RIS server and not activate any scopes.
If you are going across a "router", then this may fail. Move the RIS files to the local network..
