I wanna use Ris server
Does it works only with network adapters, listed in 3Com utility?
I trying to install computer with integrated 3Com SOHO network adapter with
bootrom, PXE compatible.
In the text part of installation my PC shows error screen: The OS image you
selected doesn't contain necessary drivers 4 your netw adapter. Try
selecting different OS Image.
The same picture if I trying to install OS to PC with integrated Intel PRO
100VE network adapter.
I integrate SP4 to the image on RIS server.

What can I do else? ;-)

I have this same issue. I have Dell GX240's and 260's
that come with the Intel 1000 MT adaptors but even after
following Microsoft's and Intel's info for installing the
adaptors I still get the same message. I have looked at
Microsoft KB's 315074 & 246184 plus whatever was on
Intel's site. My RIS Server is Win 2000 with SP4. PLUS I
just set up a test environment with Windows 2003 and had
the same problem....

All of Microsofts documentation says it shouldnt be this
hard. Is there something missing from their KB's?? Has
someone gotten this to work?

There were 'newer articles which outlined how to add your drivers for yoru
network cards.

I assume you have found these. If not let me know and I will find them.

Check Intel's web site. You need to copy the intelnic.dll
file to the I386 directory as well. Intel also has a
different version of the driver specifically for this
issue.

We've been running these NICs for about 8 months now.

I am having the same problem. I have copied the dll. and all files accordingly. There is like three different drivers for this one stupid ass network card. I have tried the file intel offers for RIS installations as well. It still does not work. Intel sucks!!! All my other cards work perfectly. Does anyone have a step by step article, Microsoft's fix is worthless as well.

Joe, you replied to an old message that isn't cached anymore. What nic are
you trying to work with?
