Problem with running RIS to install WinXP Pro from
Win2003 server;

Boot floppy works fine made via rfbg.exe

Address received via DHCP and TFTP makes the connection

Client Installation Wizard starts and asks for username,
password and domain - this all works fine as I have the
correct rights for the user - add w/s to domain and logon
as batch job.

Workstation name option does not appear in the Client
Installation Wizard Session

The wizard then reports "error 00004e23" and
says "invalid computer name" even though I have not been
prompted for a computer name.

How can I get the Client Installation Wizard to prompt
for a computer name or how else can I get this to work??

Thanks

Not sure about W2K3, but in W2K, the remote install tab in server's
properties lets you define how the systems are named (AD, RIS server
properties, RIS tab, advanced button - New Clients tab, Generate client
computer names using...).
