RIS M&T tools menu

I have configured AD to allow users access to the
Maintenance and Troubleshooting tools menu in addition to
the Automatic Setup menu. I have installed a 3rd party
tool in M&T. The tool is shown as installed in the AD
properties page for the server. It has installed files
in \\server\REMINST\setup\english\tools\
However when I boot the clients and choose the
Maintenance and Troubleshooting menu, they receive the
error Unable to display operating system (OS) choices.
The Automatic Setup menu works fine - I can install the
same file under AS and it works - the files are under
\\server\REMINST\setup\english\images\
How can I troubleshoot choices not appearing in the M&T
menu?

While I don't exactly know what tool you were attempting to install the
error message that you were receiving can be caused by one of the following
reasons:

-The Tools that were added to the RIS server are not setup properly.
-You chose the option to "Use the new client installation screens" when you
added
an Windows XP CD-Based Image to the RIS Server.

If you chose the option to "Use the new client installation screens" make
the
following change to the Tools.osc file:

From:

<META SERVER ACTION="ENUM TOOLS CMDCONS">

To:

<META SERVER ACTION="ENUM TOOLS">

After making the change, restart BINL, and the RIS clients should now see
the tools
listed under the "Maintenance and Troubleshooting" option.
