Hello,
Just got a new Compaq PC, and tried to RIS install it, but get the
following:
"Setup cannot copy the operating system image you selected.
This computer uses a different HAL than the computer from
which the image was created.
The Signature of the original HAL is :
ACPI compatible EISA/ISA HAL
the Signature of this computer's HAL is :
ACPI 1.0 - APIC platform UP"
However, the HAL dlls on both system are the same, and it appears to just be
windows being overly picky, as I was told if its an ACPI image, RIS will
work on any ACPI client, where this clearly isnt the case...
Is there a work around to this (creating another image, is not a work
around!). I figure that its something to do with imirror.dat?
Any help gretly appreciated. Is there an 'override' command or something
where I can force the image install to continue??
Cheers
