This article contains what proved to be 2 KEY pieces of information.
If your RIS server is 2003, there is a workaround for the e1000325.inf
or e100b325.inf files that is a must before anything will work right.
It involves working around an issue with the Microsoft parser. In
addition it follows up on getting rid of the "the image selected does
not contain drivers for your hardware." error messages.
Also, I've found the amount of references to "\i386" folders
disturbing while troubleshooting these RIS issues. There are only
about 8 or 9 different i386 folders available between the Pre-Ripreped
Client, and the RIS Server. Nobody seems to ever tell you which i386
folder they are referring to. I found that until the correct .ini and
..sys files were added to the base WindowsXP / 2000 image, I could not
get past the "the image selected does not contain drivers for your
hardware." error messages. And when I say "base" I do not mean the
image file that I was trying to load, I mean the base install of the
OS files that is created when configuring the RIS server. Yeah, that
base.
