Hi, I have a full working RIS server running. Everything
works fine buy I have one problem.
I want to have a WINXP image with all hotfixes (windows
update). I have already slipstreamed the SP1 and thats
works fine.
After the ris installation I run windows update and after
that I run riprep. Then I get the "Missing Cd image on
server" error message.
Is there any solution to this? Can I slipstream the image
with all the hotfixes?

I am having the same problem with 2K pro and SP4. I get
the same error when I try to RIPREP either an SP4 image or
an SP3 image with all "critical updates" (about a dozen
and a half "sp4" or "pre sp4" hotfixes listed
under "add/remove programs"). I suspect one of the
updates is causing the problem or maybe something w/
IE6SP1. I am deploying about 50 new Win 2K pc's and after
pulling my hair out for 2 days with this issue I decided
to RIPREP an SP3 image with all of my apps and no
hotfixes, then install SP4 automatically and hotfixes
manually.

One way to resolve this problem is to replace the
NTOSKRNL.exe on the CD Image with the one that resides on
the box you are Ripreping. Riprep is checking the
version number and size of the kernel and if it doesnt
match Riprep fails out. We fought this problem a while
until we learned the check that Riprep does. We have been
using this solution for the last year with no issues, in
an environment with 1500 client computers.
