You can use a dvd ripper to convert the audio to wav and then use any basic
converter to convert the wav to mp3. Streamripper is the most popular
ripper that will do this and it's freeware.

If you don't have a wav converter db poweramp converter is pretty good:

Someone may know of a one step one like Nero that's freeware but this is all
I'm aware of.

CladDVD will rip a DVD to its vob file(s) and a wav file. You can
delete the vob (which will be about 5 or 6 GB in size no matter which
ripper program you use). Once you have the wav file you can use CDEX
(preferred) or Audacity to convert it to mp3.

Vob2Audio can create an mp3 file directly from a vob, but I don't know
if it requires you to have used another program to rip the vob from
the DVD, or if it can rip directly from a DVD itself.
