My VPN connection is successful, but when I go to browse the domain it
says that the user does not have permissions to access the domain. How
can I check the rights of a user?

Hello,

In a vpn connection, the account you use to connect is used only to
validate that you have access to the VPN connection. Once connected the
user account logged into the console will be passed to the internal
resources for access permissions. We do not pass the account used for the
VPN connection on to these resources. So make sure the account logged on
at the console has permissions to the share/resource you are trying to
access. How you go about checking the rights of an individual user depends
on what exactly you are trying to access.

What are you trying to access and what is the exact error you are getting?

Thank you so much for your reply. This is an experiment that I am
trying to learn VPN. I just created an account and wanted to access a
shared folder on the server. The error I am getting is that the
"Domain is not accessible. I might not have the permissions to access
the domain".

John,

Test removing your virus scanner and then test the connection. We have
seen cases where the virus scanner interfered with the clients abolity to
browse the network. Also make sure there is no firewall installed on the
client.
