I am using Windows XP Pro. Suddenly, whenever I right-
click on an image file (gif, jpg, etc.), Windows gives me
an error message, closes everything and goes back to the
desktop. This only happens on image files. I can do
everything else just fine, but I can't right click on
them. Any suggestions?

Could you post the error message?

Very generic:

Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to
close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

I wonder if the following KB article would offer any useful info:

(821403) Mipmapi.dll Error Message When
You Point to "Send To" and Then Click "Mail
Recipient" to Send a File in an E-mail Message
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=821403

Just wondering...has this problem started since an upgrade to
WinXP Pro...*over* your previous operating system?

No, I've been running XP for nearly a year and this just
started in the past couple of weeks. I'm also getting the
address: 0x00000000291040ad

I guess you'll have to remember what you installed,
uninstalled, updated that may be related to this issue.

Sorry, but that's all I have to offer...

If you find a solution please share it with us.
