When I right click on the desktop and go to "new" there is
a list of options I can use, folder, shortcut, text doc,
etc. My question is, how do I go about removing some of
them? Any incite would help me greatly.

Hi Chris,
You can edit those file-type templates easily through TweakUI. Under
TweakUI, go to the templates section and uncheck the ones you do not want to
appear. You may also delete them permanently if you are sure that you would
not need them in the future.

Download TweakUI from:

Thanks. I was tying to figure this one out myself. 1 question though:

I used Tweak UI to delete the items I don't want. That worked ok.

However, in the templates list in Tweak is new .txt, but that doesn't
show up when I right click in a folder or on desktop. I tried the
*.reg fix from Kelly's Korner, but I still don't see it.
I see the create option in Tweak/templates, but I'm not quite sure how
to use it.
Any help?

Many thanks
