Under XP how do I change the order in priority for the right mouse button.
At the moment the first item is "search" and not "Open".
Likewise if i double click (left mouse) on folder it goes to search rather
than open said folder.

Type "Regsvr32 /i shell32" in the RUN box.

Tip: Compliment from David Candy.

that will just set it to default. to set it to another one follow these
directions:

1. start
2. control panel
3. folder options
4. file types tab
5. select the file tips (or file folder)
6. you will see the options
7. click the one you want as default and then click "set as default"
Type "Regsvr32 /i shell32" in the RUN box.

First of all, editing the FileType is the cause for this problem.
