Under 1 of the users log ins on my computer the right
click menu in excel (office XP) does not work any more.
when you right click it copies the cell or row or column
instead of opening the menu. when you log in under
another user name and use excel it works fine.
HHEELLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPP please

Hi Dave
only some guesses in the dark:
1. righ-click on the menu bar and choose 'customize'. In the appearing
dialog 're-set' all menu and toolbars

2. Try reregistering Excel in Windows:
- Close Excel
- Windows Start Button|Run
- excel /unregserver
then
- Windows Start Button|Run
- excel /regserver

If both does not help you may also check if you have a setting for your
mouse (within the Windows Control Panel)

It sounds like you have a "helpful" macro that's taken over.

Does it happen on every worksheet in every workbook?

If it only happens in one workbook (or even only one worksheet), then it sounds
like it could be an event in that workbook. This is a decision that the
developer made. Go back and tell him/her you want your right click back!

If it happens in all your worksheets, then it sounds like there's an addin
that's being loaded that's stealing the rightclick option.

Start excel in safe mode to test it out
close excel
windows start button|Run
excel /safe

And test it out.

If rightclick works ok, then you've go to find the "offending" workbook/addin.

Chip Pearson has some nice instructions for finding stuff like this:
http://www.cpearson.com/excel/StartupErrors.htm

In short, your task will be to uncheck everything in tools|addins, remove all
the files from the XLStart (and alternate startup location) and start adding
things back one by one.

And restart excel between each change--until you find the culprit.

When you find that file, move it out of the way until you can find out how much
damage will be done by killing the thing.
