Right-Click Inability Freeze

Lately when I try to right-click a desktop folder or icon
or any My Computer folders or icons on my hard drive the
sand dial appears, thinks, and will not go away, then I
have to CTRL+ALT+DEL and restart the friggin computer -
any ideas people ???? ?
