Following loss of my profile information, so I had to re-create, I've
come across a peculiar problem that I can't solve.
When I log in on my XP machine (creating a new profile) with an NT4
domain account, I have no problems.
When I log in using my Active Directory account (again, creating a new
profile), I find several peculiar problems:
1) In IE 6 SP1, right-clicking on a link and selecting "Open in new
window" does nothing.
2) In Windows Explorer, right-click on file and selecting "Send to"
"Mail recipient" does nothing (although I can get an Outlook profile-
selection dialog).
3) In IE, left-clicking a link with a TARGET attribute does nothing.
4) The Windows Update service does nothing when I click the "Install"
button.
I'm assuming that these are all related. I've tried repairing my OS
installation, my Office installation, deleting the local profiles and
re-creating them; no change. Both accounts have local administrator
access. If I log on to another machine, I don't see the problem; if
someone else logs on to my machine, they don't see the problem.
My next step appears to be reinstall the OS, but that will be a pain to
reinstall the software.
Anybody have any ideas?
