right click does not open email in preview pane

Hello...

One of the most annoying things about Outlook 2003 is that
I can't right click on an email and see it in the preview
pane. I can left click on it to select it and see it in
the preview pane but not right click. Is there some
setting so I can right click on it to select it and view
it in the preview pane? If so, please let me know. It will
be much much appreciated. Thanks!

When you select a message it is viewed in the preview pane. Is there a
reason why you want to right click on it instead of just selecting it?

Yes, so I can click on "Mark As Read" quicker. Left
clicking it would select it but then I have to right click
on it and select "Mark As Read." Outlook 2000 allows you
to select it and view it in the preview pane with a right
click.

Yes, so I can click on "Mark As Read" quicker. Left clicking it would
select it but then I have to right click on it and select "Mark As
Read." Outlook 2000 allows you to select it and view it in the preview
pane with a right click.

You could always just set the Reading Pane options to mark the item as
read for you - then you can just left-click the item.

Yes that is true. But sometimes I want to keep it read
after I have read it for later reading. Is there a way to
make it act like Outlook 2000 and have it select it by
right clicking it?

Or use the keyboard to mark as read.

No, you can't change how outlook does it.

I don't think so.

BTW,, this was changed for security reasons - to allow users to delete
a message without loading it into the preview. It not only avoids previewing
potentially dangerous spam, but makes it easier for IMAP users to delete
messages without downloading the bodies.
