Outlook Express allowed the user to right click the 'Deleted Items' folder
and permanently empty the deleted items.

Is that possible in Windows Mail? (would be nice for 'Junk E-mail' also)

Depends on what you mean by permanently empty. The have the right click
option to empty the folder and that permanently deletes whatever is in that
folder, but it does not automatically delete what goes into the folder after
it was emptied.

Thank you for the reply Frank.

Of course I understand that the 'Deleted Items' folder will not stay
permanently empty - what I am asking is if there is some option to allow me
right click on the actual folder (in the folder tree on the left) and empty
the 'Deleted Items' folder.

Currently, to empty the 'Deleted Items' folder, I have to select
"Edit->Empty 'Deleted Items' Folder" from the menu. I would like to be able
to right click on the folder to get the empty option as well.

When I right click on the 'Deleted Items' or 'Junk E-mail' folder right now,
nothing happens.

I can right click on those folders in the folder list (View | Layout | check
Folder list) and I have both those options.

Thanks Steve.

I am using a Microsoft wireless IntelliMouse Explorer 2.0 (with configurable
buttons), and I've downloaded the most recent vista signed software from the
MS website, but I still lack any right click functionality in Windows Mail.

I am using a USB port for the IntelliMouse, but I've also used a USB/PS2
adapter in the PS2 port, and I've used a regular ol' $0.10 wired mouse in the
PS2 port - none of which allowed me to right click on a folder in the folder
list of Windows Mail.

Not sure if this tidbit will help - but when I'm in Windows mail, and I
hover my mouse pointer over a folder in the folder list, I get the 'link
select' type pointer graphic - the hand with pointer finger extended. When I
right click, the pointer graphic changes to the default arrow, although no
menu pops up.

Thanks for any assistance you can offer,
Austin

Additionally, I meant to mention that my right click functionality works
exactly as it should in all other programs.

Well, color me stupid...

I use four 22" LCDs with two PCIe16 video cards. I was keeping my WM
program on the far left monitor, and when I'd right click on the 'Deleted
Items' folder, the menu would pop up at the right edge of the far right
monitor. It was out of my peripheral vision, so I never caught it.

Duh...

Sorry for wasting your time Steve & Frank - I appreciate your help all the
same. Thanks again.
