One of my latest applications. Once again, it's nothing special, but......
here goes;

Program Name: RF Types (Registered File Types)
Version: 1.0
Release Date: 13-12-2003
Size: 31.2KB (no install)
386KB (basic install)
1.41MB (full install (.zip/.cab))
1.51MB (full install (.exe))

Homepage: http://www.it-mate.co.uk/support/rftypes.asp

Download: http://www.it-mate.co.uk/support/rftypes_download.asp

Description:

RF Types (Registered File Types) is a small utility that simplifies the
viewing of registered file extensions on your system.

Unlike the Windows utility that allows the same, RF Types allows you to see
which file's are registered for the "Open With" dialog, without your having
to actually do anything first.

..: RF Types features include;
..: View registered file types
..: Filter "Open With" key's
..: Import/Export registry key's (individual key, list of key's, whole
registry)
..: Backup registry and/or registry key's
..: Save list of file types for viewing in Notepad, or alternative editor(s)

Note: this program has not been tested on NT based systems, only Windows 9x

Forgot to mention. This is only an initial release as I'm still kind of
"stuck" on what features to add.

If anyone has any suggestions/comments, I'd be more than happy to hear them?

If you top post then most newsreaders will strip your previous
comments. One of the reasons that people shouldn't top post.

Now, as regards your query, I would like to know more than what
"opens" with an extension. I would like to see ALL of the available
actions with any extension.

Suppose we look at .HTML . It might look like this ;

open - program A.
edit - program B.
print - program C.

Your program, showing all of the above, would be handy.

Regards, John.

Sorry, slight messup on my part.

I'm working on another new utility at the moment, but I'll look into adding
the additions you've mentioned in the next update.

Thanks again.

I'm going mad I think.....

Looking at it again, I've just realised what you meant, and the extra info
is already included (see screenshot).

To view the additional information, select and right click the item you wish
to view, and click "Additional Information"

Thanks. My suggestion was to show that info *without* clicking
"Additional Info". In other words have a * list * with the above info
for all the extensions.

Oh right.

I was going to do that however, after testing it, I decided not to as it
slowed the program down dramatically (took 15 x longer to gather the info).

For those of us who are okay waiting it would be nice to have that
as an "option". Not set as a "default". With the above warning as
well. :-)

Would be GREAT to be able to print such a list. IMO time isn't a
problem. One isn't likely to be using this utility every day. Where
time IS a problem people could use the default setup.

In that case John, I've noted it for inclusion in the next update :o)
