I would look into the "CACHE" mode as being
the first culprit of this type of problem.

If she is a delegate or has a delegate, are they set up for
using "CALENDAR CACHE"?
Check two things:
1) Are they set up for using "CALENDAR CACHE"?
Tools | Options | Preferences tab
Click the CALENDAR OPTIONS... button
Turn off the check mark next to
ALWAYS USE LOCAL CALENDAR
2) "Try opening Outlook using the ".../CleanFreeBusy" switch. The
link(s) below will give you the instructions on how to use it.

3) Might be that the client's OST file is corrupt. I think I would try
deleting all *.ost files on the client's hard-drive.
Close Outlook
Perform a FIND (click on desktop and press <F3>)
(If you are using XP or W2K operating system be
sure to look in hidden files)
Look for *.OST files.
Delete all that you find from the find window.
Restart Outlook.
When you restart Outlook it will rebuild a fresh new
ost file. Depending on how much information the client
keeps in their mailbox this can cause the first opening
to take longer than normal.
