I have had a message Review Changes to your computer settings. The program
it relates to is InstallShield and it states Auto Start. I haven't changed
my settings, and I am not at all sure what this means. I know Installshield
has notified regarding update to programmes which I have allowed. So I am
not at all sure what to do on this, do I allow it.

Hi Denise

It seems that on Dell Computers, they are using the xDM12 drivers and also
Installshield. Another user with a Dell had asked about the same thing.
Installshield can be setup to update itself as well as other programs.
Again, when you were asking about the driver issue, I said it was probably ok
because Dell put it there - the same thing probably holds true for
Installshield. However, you have to look at the list of programs that
Installshield is updating. I would suggest you look for an Installshield
Icon in Other Control Panel options (you should be able to get to other from
Control Panel options - look on the left side of the screen). If the icon is
there, click it and it should provide options such as how often to look for
updates and programs to update. Or there might be an entry under the All
programs list; if there is then click it. It might also appear under the
name Program Updates.
So the bottom line is you need to review which programs are being updated
and then make your decision. Also, Dell may be using the feature to download
updates for their Dell software.

Thanks Mr. Cat that was very helpful. Can you answer this one. This morning
WD notified me of another change, this one read, Publisher - Gteko Ltd. Agent
- Services and Drivers. Checkpoint - Drivers. Detected Changes - Driver
SDDM12. Could this be the same as before and its possibly Dell updating.

Hi Denise

I think you are playing "Stump the Cat" (LOL). I really don't know. Since
it's the same driver name, I would allow the change. I have a suspicion that
the driver gets involved with configuration (hardware) changes to your
computer. Maybe you attached some USB devices recently or entered standby or
hibernation?

Hi Mr. Cat

I haven't entered into hibernation or standby, the one thing that did
happend 2 days ago. I had a problem printing on my Epson printer, I
contacted Epson but never had an anwser from them by email. Going through the
troubleshooter for printers with windows they couldn't find the answer also,
they seem to suggest it was a driver problem! I had to reinstall the printer
2 weeks ago due to having to carry out a PCRestore. Anyway thanks for your
help and I will allow them.
