reverse problem

Hi,
A lot of people seem to have a problem with IE not opening
up more than once. I have the reverse .I want IE to open
only once ,or even better ,to control how many time it
opens. Can anyone help ?

Hello,

First of all: scan for adware and spyware using AdAware (www.lavasoft.de)
and/or Spybot (www.kolla.de).

In IE: Tools, Options, Advanced, [x] Reuse Windows for launching shortcuts.

You can also disable Javascript, but that might be a bit too drastic for
comfortable surfing...

Thank you but the problem is I WANT TO limit IE so it can
only be opened once or twice from the desk top.

Go to Tools | Internet Options | Advanced.
Check "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts".
 
Thanks Frank,
But that only works within an open IE, I can still open
more from the desk top as new sessions. This is what I
would like to control.
